Introduction

An Operations Analyst is responsible for overseeing projects and managing various tasks related to the settlement of transactions, reconciling positions, populating monthly reporting, maintaining the records on client accounts, and assessing, analyzing and evaluating processes and data. Here is a detailed job description for an Operations Analyst within CDAM:

Responsibilities

Operations

  • Trade Settlement 
    • Engage in a full operational trade lifecycle, including: Allocation, Settlement, Reconciliation, Trade reporting, interacting with Portfolio Managers, Brokers, and Custodians
    • Act as a primary contact for day-to-day operational activities
  • Cash management
    • Monitor and process cash transactions
    • Substantiate and meet margin calls
  • Portfolio and Order Management System
    • Reconcile positions between the portfolio management system (PMS) and custodians
    • Utilize and improve an automated portfolio analytics tool
    • Build operations and compliance reports within the PMS

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Contribute to the Company’s ongoing compliance monitoring and reporting
  • Monitor risk parameters and position limits
  • Perform ad hoc reviews and analyses as appropriate

Marketing

  • Prepare client reports and portfolio data to maintain marketing databases
  • Produce monthly/quarterly and ad hoc marketing factsheets/presentations

Administration

  • Provide general administrative support to the company

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel (VBA knowledge preferred)
  • Proactive and inquisitive nature, highly numerate with strong analytical skills
  • Values and culture driven
  • A friendly professional demeanor and ability to excel in a team-oriented environment
  • Motivated and hardworking, with a strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of equity markets, knowledge of DTCC and UnaVista is desirable
  • Desire and ability to work successfully in a small company environment
  • A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 2:1 or equivalent
  • Financial or investment environment experience
